The day started out dark, dreary and wet as well as my legs hurting with lactic acid build up from yesterday’s climb up the mountain. The accommodation where I was staying was dark and empty, even the restaurant downstairs was closed. I left in the dark and rain.

Cold, wet and alone
There was some confusion leaving town as someone has switched the signs around and I followed the newer alternate route out of town ( up over another hill).
It was another 7km before I could find a place to have a meagre breakfast of toast and coffee.

This area is known for its cold wet weather, perhaps that’s why everything is so green.
