We arrived in Lisbon yesterday and spent the day touring around, we also spent a good part of today continuing to walk around Lisbon. It’s a great city. Plenty of history, culture and food. Lisbon has been on this site for over 2000 years, with history and culture from both the Moors (Muslims) and Christians surviving harmoniously to this day.
We set out from Lisbon around. 3pm, only planning to walk 8km to Parque das nacoes. We ended up walking about 10km (an additional 2km due to a detour and finding accommodation) , with an additional 10km around Lisbon, sightseeing.
Setting off later in the day meant that we walked as the day began to get cooler and we had more shade. Most of today was along cobblestones and through residential and industrial areas. It will take us two days to walk out of Lisbon. Thankfully the weather is warm and sunny (24c) and planned to be this way for the rest of the week.
