Headed off early this morning, 6:30am on the bus. Back in Ribadesella today restarting the Camino from where we stopped on the weekend . Got off the bus at 9 o’clock I started from the bus station walking along the seafront. Some of the houses are quite flamboyant.

There are quite a few pilgrims around today about six so far, a couple in front of me, a couple behind me it’s quite busy. I get glimpses of others in the distance.

At first the walk was along the seaside and then it started to head into the hills along quiet country roads and then onto rocky tracks.
I spotted a seaside town down the hill and it is supposed to have a bar and restaurant. I had planned this to be my rest stop. Unfortunately everything was closed. But I had also planned for this and had brought some fruit and trail mix.

In the same town there were some interesting wall murals.

The trail moved away from the beach into the hills and then back again, several times.

I found a small bar just off the Camino, it came just in time as my feet were starting to ache. Had a small coke and pintxo sized bocodillia as a snack.
After walking past endless beaches I came to my destination for the day, La Isla.
It was too early to check in (4pm) so I found a bar nearby. The lady running the place made me a very nice pilgrims meal with fresh baked bread. Not beautiful to look at but hearty and nutritious. No artificial flavours or additives in this food.

The white bean stew is a regional dish, Fabada asturiana. I am really loving it.
The accommodation I am staying is a cross between a hotel and Albergue, they do a pilgrims meal at 8:30pm for guests only.
They have closed their bar for the day so I have walked down the road to the beach and found a bar right on the beach. 🏖️

Today turned out to be a 20km day.
