We started out with high hopes we could beat the rain today, but there are a number of concepts in Portugal that seem to be fluid. Time, distance and weather forecasts.
The town catered for holiday makers and the beach had quite a few little beach boxes that housed cafes and bathrooms, also they rented out beach cabanas. You cannot use the beach here without paying.

We walked along the foreshore and the surf pounded in. There were a few surfers out, but it looked a bit choppy.

The walk was mainly along the seaside and on a boardwalk. We moved inland slightly at one stage but this was mainly to walk around the golf course.

The boardwalk went through sand dunes and the sand had started to reclaim the path.

We eventually moved inland through a small forest before moving back to the coast at our destination.

Our destination for the day was Esposende. A well established town that has all the services we needed. It started to rain about an hour out from our destination. The forecast had said it wouldn’t rain till later, then changed. Our accommodation was a 3 story private residence where all the bedrooms are rented out overnight. We self catered for dinner and breakfast. But this meant we could get going early in the morning.
