We started a little later this morning, knowing we only had 18km to cover. It was slow going, across and along some major highways, through small towns and villages, and some Eucalypt forests. Getting out of town required a steep climb, the town was on a river and yesterday we walked down into town and this meant today we had to walk up out of town.

One of the towns we walked through had a number of large abandoned mansions, that in their day would have been magnificent. A couple of them are still lived in today.

Some of the towns had signs and fountains for pilgrims, and the way is very well marked. The water may not be drinkable so its not worth the risk. In any case we had a few rest/ drink stops today and took our time.
