Day 32 – Portomarín to Palas de Rei

The Camino highway was at full capacity this morning, there were pilgrims everywhere. I watched a whole line of them follow one another down the wrong road that would only lead them back into town. I called out to them but only 2 of them turned around and came back. Lesson for today, don’t be one of the flock and follow blindly.

Early morning-Portomarín

The Camino Highway

With 4 days to go to Santiago, I am struggling a little with shin splints in my left shin and pain in my lower back. I walked all day in sandals and it has eased the pain in my shins. Now I just need to work on my back, some stretching should help.

Jayne’s lunch – better than mine.

My lunch – Egg and Chorizo omelette bocadillio and a Diet Coke.

Very medieval

The open road, finally broke free of the masses. But it’s threatening to rain.

It’s raining again, however it did not get us today. Just started as we entered our accommodation. Almost to the minute it was forecast to rain.

Hydrotherapy shower in our room.

Our accommodation might not have a restaurant or bar, but it has hydrotherapy showers and perfumed loofah’s.n
