“Not all those that wander are lost” – J.R.R. Tolkien
Knowing I had a long day ahead of me I started as early as possible. It was light enough to see but the sun was not yet up.

Breakfast was a meagre affair, one coffee and one slice of toast.

I reached an important milestone today, Cruz de Ferro. While not a true religious site it is highly symbolic site for pilgrims made even more popular due it being used in the movie “The Way “

Here people leave a stone they have carried with them, symbolising a burden or burdens they carry. Leaving the stone here symbolises realising that burden.
When leaving the stone, people repeat the following:
“Lord, may this stone, a symbol of our efforts on pilgrimage that I lay at the foot of the Cross of the Savior, one day be the balance in favor of our good deeds when the deeds of our lives are judged. Let it be so. Amen.”

I walked on all sorts of surfaces today

The surface that is missing is the 4km downhill goat track. I had to concentrate on what I was doing. No time to take a photo.

Today was a big day, a double day. I did two days walking in one.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.“
