Up at first light today, it was cold – 10c. Our accommodation also had a bar/cafeteria attached and they were able supply gluten and lactose free options for Jayne.

First light on the Meseta.

Not sure what this is for.
We started out through rolling hills, and the terrain soon changed to flat, wide open fields and eventually to scrubland.

Halfway
Sahagun is the official half way point if you started in Roncesvalles. We started 30km before that. But we are half way down and half to go.

Leaving Sahagun

9km if scrubland and dirt track to our destination,

This fountain is supposed to have healing properties.
Our accommodation for the night. A Casa Rural run by a family.

Le Jardin

Camino Community – Walking the Camino we often see the same people each day. We say Hola, or Buenos Dias or Buen Camino. Sometimes we exchange pleasantries. Sometimes they just disappear and we never see them again, but maybe we will. This is John and Vicki, a couple from Ireland. Very nice people. We see them from time to time, sometimes chat, sometimes just pass by.

The hotel (Casa Rural) we stayed in was run and owned by husband and wife (Hema and Leo) Leo us also the Chef, he made a special effort for Sin Gluten and Sin Lactose meals for Jayne.

Gluten free, Lactose free pinxos
This is Leo in the middle ( he sang the entire time he cooked).
