Day 10 – Viana to Návarette

Started early today before anything was open for breakfast. Today’s top is forecast to be 34c, hotter on the road without shade. The first stop was after 2hrs in Logrona.

One foot after the other will get us there, eventually.

We occasionally run into a women from Texas, USA who we have nicknamed “wrong way” almost every time we see her she is lost or confused. We came across her entering Logrono, she was about 50 metres from the Camino and not sure where she was going. We came across the same few people from time to time, another is a Greek lady, on her own, but very capable. She is always talking on her phone, we think she is recording her thoughts to write a book. On the Camino you don’t always get someone’s name, but often their life story as you walk together.

Storks nesting

Storks build massive nests, and come back to the same nest every year.

The bridge entering Logrono

This painting is obviously valuable, it’s locked in a vault. I’ll research it later.

This Is what graffiti should like, true street art.

Graffiti as an art form on a freeway underpass.

We crossed those mountains about a week ago

Our accommodation in Navarrete is in a basic Albergue, bunk beds, no sheets, or towels etc. at least we carry those. It’s too hot for blankets anyway.

We stopped in this town for a break in 2014. The church here has to have the most ornate alter we have seen in Spain.

So much gilding!

Our lunch spot in Navarrete, Pinxos and Benita’s, 34c sitting in the shade unable to move.
