The area we walk through today was used in the filming of “The Way” by Emilio Estevez and A documentary “6 ways to Santiago” both very different perspectives on the Camino but both very watchable. If you haven’t seen them I highly recommend both.
The walk out of Pamplona was, fortunately, quite quick. The remnants of last nights final San Fermin celebrations were still wandering around like zombies.

Once out of Pamplona the fields opened up, planted with Wheat, Sunflowers and other crops. It was good to be in open space.

Harvest time

We stopped for a lunch behind a church at midday. In this town the have real church bells that chime every hour, not expecting it we nearly jumped out of our skins.

The walk took us over Alto del Perdon, again a very famous landmark.

Translation – where the path of the wind crosses the stars. (I think).
We stopped in the same stop in Uterga last time for a refreshment and rest.

For the first time we have seen Storks nesting.

And what would the day be without a visit to the local church.
