The day started out grey, cold and foggy, a little like our mood. It was slow work up the hills and out of Negreira, the walk was cold and damp. Eventually the fog lifted, the clouds cleared and the sun came out.
We walked this path in 2015, and some of it is familiar. When we last walked this leg it was raining, and we were wet through and miserable. This time the sun was shining and we could look around and enjoy the countryside so it was all new.

Surprisingly there are a lot of people walking this Camino, we see dozens of pilgrims in front and behind us, all day. We pass some, talk to some, some pass us and so on. We played leap fog with a group of young Spanish guys today. Just as we were entering Santa Marina, they appeared in their bathers (underwear) just having taken a dip in a creek (waterhole).
We are staying at an Albergue, in bunks. But we have the room to ourselves. However we need to provide our own linen & towels, which we carry just in case.
Janice’s blister has flared up again, so we have to take things a little easier. Janice has decided to toss her boots. There are some serious mountain climbs coming up, and last time we climbed this mountain it was in a raging storm, we got soaked through and had to call it quits. So we have some decisions to make.
We are sitting in the Albergue having a few vino blanco’s and enjoying the sunshine.
While talking to a few other pilgrims today, We have learnt of another Camino, from Cambridge to Rome. This needs further investigation!
Sometimes we wonder if we are heading in the right direction.
