Today we start the last leg of this part of our journey, it will be a little harder and longer than usual. And it almost all uphill the Catholics have a tendency to acquire the best real estate on top of the hills. The cathedral is, of course, built on top of a hill.
So we set out early, skipped breakfast – just an espresso. With plans to have a break in about an hour or so.

Each leg was a little longer today, with not so many breaks. Our breakfast stop was a good one with coffee, a small piece of toast and churros.
We started to move from country villages to suburbia today.

We also had to deal with confusing signs, as the way split into two as we approached Santiago de Compostela. We took the route to Santa Maria, as it brought us closer to our hotel.

After arriving we spent some time resting, recovered and went out to the cathedral and the pilgrims office to register our arrival and receive our Compostela’s.

It was grey bleak down, and quite cold when we arrived.

We went back to the Cathedral for the pilgrims mass and saw the botafumeiro in action.
So now we are having a few days break in Santiago de Compostela before starting the Camino Finisterre and Muxia.
